2020 has primarily been a year filled with tragedy for people around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic crisis. As countless fans around the world are yet to come out of the shock of SPB's death due to COVID-19 and are still sharing their condolences, including celebrities and reputed personalities from various walks of life as well paying their tributes, the news of popular Tamil film director RS Durai Senthilkumar's father, Selvaraj, passing away on Saturday has only added to more sorrow and grief. RS Durai Senthilkumar’s father Selvaraj died today due to a cardiac arrest. He was 67. It has been revealed that his last rites ritual and cremation will be held today at his native Karur in Tamil Nadu. 

RS Durai Senthilkumar is known among fans for having worked as an associate to National Award-winning filmmaker Vetri Maaran and had made his directorial debut in 2013 with Ethir Neechal, which starred Sivakarthikeyan, Priya Anand, and Nandita Swetha in the lead roles and was produced by Dhanush under the Wunderbar Studios banner. Durai Senthilkumar joined hands once again for the second time with Sivakarthikeyan and Dhanush's Wunderbar Studios for their Kaaki Sattai in 2015, which had Sri Divya playing the female lead. Post the first two films with Sivakarthikeyan as the lead, the hit director then made Kodi under Vetri Maaran's Grass Root Film Company banner and this time with Dhanush playing dual roles, alongside Trisha as the antagonist and Anupama Parameswaran as the heroine. Durai Senthilkumar’s martial arts film, Pattas, was his last, which hit screens earlier this year as a Pongal release and once again starred Dhanush in dual roles, with Sneha and Mehreen Pirzada as the female leads.
