Director Srinath Ramalingam is all excited about his maiden project Unakkenna Venum Sollu, which is gearing up for release on September 24th, worldwide. In an exclusive interview with the director, Srinath revealed many details about his upcoming film. Excerpts from the interview are below...

It is known that the film was initially titled as Daisy and had been facing few delays. Now, the director of the film is all thankful for the new title Unakkenna Venum Sollu. According to him, when the film had the title Daisy, the film had a reach of about just 20 to 30 percentage. But with the change in title to Unakkenna Venum Sollu, the film's reach has increased multifold for which he is thankful to Gautham Menon and the Yennai Arindhal team for graciously granting permission to use this title.

When asked about his fresh team comprising of all new faces, the young director was all praise for the cast. In fact he has a clear justification for using fresh faces such as Deepak Paramesh, Gunalan Morgan, Mourhrna Aneetha, Jacqueline Prakash and many others. "I have made this film from many true incidents that inspired me. And so I wanted a sense of reality to come across. New faces are more relateable. If a well known actress or actor is used, then my audience will perceive it is as only a film. I didn't want that to happen. Though my film's cast is new, they have perfected their roles," said the director. He also added that in order to maintain the realistic mood of the film, the usage of VFX and CG has been limited.

While interacting with Srinath, without any hesitation he revealed that the film despite being a horror genre, has much emotional drama and the movie ends on a feel good note. "Unakkenna Venum Sollu will offer lots of scary moments in its first half and shifts the focus to emotional relationships in its second half. On the whole, I promise you a feel good climax, which will be enjoyed by audience of all ages."

The young director who is very passionate about working in horror genre has many horror thriller short films to his credit. When asked about the reason for choosing a horror film as his first feature film, he said that his interest towards the genre and hypnotherapy led him to Unakkenna Venum Sollu. His interest and knowledge in the paranormal is quite obvious from the enthusiasm with which he discusses the topic, sharing his own experiences as well.

However, at the end of the conversation the spook-loving director promised that his second project will be a romantic entertainer(in the lines of Pisasu maybe?!) Galatta Media wishes Srinath Ramalingam and his Unakkenna Venum Sollu team loads of spooked out audiences!
