Director Vijay was supposed to have two of his films release on the same day in the form of Watchman starring G.V.Prakash and Devi 2 starring Prabhu Deva and Tamannnaah. Both the films were scheduled to hit the screens on April 12, ahead of the Tamil New Year.

However, we now hear that one of the two films is postponed to a later date and that happens to be the horror comedy, Devi 2. We are informed that the makers are planning to release Devi 2 on May 1, though an official announcement is yet to be made. Sivakarthikeyan's Mr Local is already planned to release on May 1 and being the high point of the summer, many other biggies might also target that date.

Ajith Kumar's Nerkonda Paarvai was also initially said to release on the said date, but later reports suggested that the film might be postponed by a few days. With this being the case, we will have to wait for a few more days to know the exact release plans of Devi 2.

Also, our sources state that the theatrical rights of this film has been bagged by Screen Scene Entertainment who recently released Arun Vijay's Thadam and are awaiting the release of Hiphop Tamizha's Natpe Thunai. Stay tuned for more updates.
