Director Anand Shankar, a former associate of blockbuster filmmaker A. R. Murugadoss, made his directorial debut with the 2014 action thriller, Arima Nambi, which had Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand in the lead roles and was produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. Although the film turned out to be a success, Anand Shankar struck box office gold with his next, Iru Mugan, starring ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram and Nayanthara as the lead pair, which went on to become a raging hit across all metropolitan centres. His last film, NOTA, with Vijay Deverakonda too scored well in terms of critical praise and also went on to receive a favorable commercial outcome. With his filmmaking career in full swing, director Anand Shankar has tied the knot with his love, Divyanka Jeevanantham, in a private wedding ceremony in the presence of family and close friends.
Anand Shankar had towards the end of last year revealed on his Twitter page about how he is in love with Divyanka Jeevanantham and also spoke about how she accepted his proposal. On the professional front, there are no details regarding the director's next project and it remains to be seen what he is planning in the days ahead.
