Veteran director Adoor Gopalakrishnan has written to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting seeking for fairness in the selection of National Award winners. In his letter, he has criticised the juries selecting the winners as the major prizes, including the Best Film and the Best Director, are beeing grabbed by commercial mainstream films. He also asked the ministry to make the qualification of the jury members public to make the process transparent.
