Dileep sues against CID animation

CID Moosa 007, the animated version of Dileep's CID Moosa (2003) directed by Johnny Antony, has created a new controversy. Actor Dileep has filed a petition in the court against its director Binu Sasidharan for violating copyrights act, accusing that CID Moosa 007 was produced without his permission.

The court had deferred the hearing of the case to next week. However, Binu Sasidharan said that the movie was made only after getting permission from Dileep.

CID Moosa 007, produced under the banner of FX3 and Wireframe productions, was released last month in Kochi and it is the first time an Indian film has been made into an animated film.

Inspired by the original 2003 movie, a group of talented animators from Aluva created the animated version by retaining the characters in the movie but creating a different story written be Murali Krishna. Mimicry artistes had given voice to the cartoon characters representing Dileep, Jagathy Sreekumar, Harishree Ashokan and Salim Kumar in the film.
