Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, one of the most prolific Indian names in the world, had delivered chart-buster songs in the recently-released ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay starrer, Bigil. ARR has a stellar line up of films next among which include Sivakarthikeyan’s sci-fi venture tentatively titled, SK 14, Vikram’s Chiyaan 58, director Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan and Kamal Haasan’s Thalaivan Irukkindraan in Tamil followed by Dil Bechara and 99 Songs in Hindi, Le Musk in English and the Prithviraj and Amala Paul starrer, Aadujeevitham, in Malayalam. Among them, A. R. Rahman’s next big release will be the Hindi film, Dil Bechara, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Sanjana Sanghi and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles and is an official remake of the 2014 Hollywood blockbuster, The Fault in Our Stars. Having said that, the ‘Mozart of Madras’ has now announced on his Twitter page that Dil Bechara will be coming out in theatres on May 8, 2020. Check out the release date announcement below:

Directed by Mukesh Chhabra and produced by Fox Star Studios, Dil Bechara will have additional background score by Qutub-E-Kripa and marks the acting debut of Sanjana Sanghi as the female lead. Expectations for the film shot up after it was revealed to be a remake of The Fault in Our Stars, which is an adaptation of author John Green's 2012 novel based on the same title. There is plenty of talk regarding how the makers of Dil Bechara will be faithful in adapting The Fault in Our Stars with many waiting to witness Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi reprise the roles portrayed by Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley in the English original.
