100 which was supposed to be releasing on 9th of May, was postponed due to some financial issues and hit the theatres only on the evening of May 10th. Actor Raj Aiyappan, who played the antagonist of the film, is son of actor Banuprakash who starred in Amaravathi, Thalaivasal, Mamiyaar Veedu, Adhe Manidhan and others.
He had produced a couple of Telefilms and series like Naangavadhu Viral, Agathin Azhagu, Gokulam, a daily soap on Vijay TV and Room No 13. He was also an executive producer for Soolam and Velan and Sigaram, a daily soap on Sun TV.
Following 100's release, there was a rumor spreading throughout the internet as a wildfire that Thala Ajith had encouraged Aiyappan to act in films. The rumors were slammed down by the actor that it was a false news, while we approached them.
Banuprakash acquainted actor Ajith during the filming of Amaravathi. And it seems like in the midst of a general conversation, Ajith has spoken about Aiyappan's looks to Banuprakash. And apparently, Aiyappan had interned with Suresh Chandra, PRO of Ajith. And simultaniously, Sam Anton was hunting for the antagonist part and that's how the 100 movie actor landed up in the project.
