Rahman's Dhuruvangal 16 opened to positive response with thumping reviews. The film was widely appreciated for its sleek filmmaking. A crime thriller directed by debutante Karthick Naren, who is just 21-years old, the film is now all set to be remade in Hindi and Telugu. Talks are on with a leading Telugu stars and revealing the news Karthick wrote, "Talks are on for remaking #D16 in Telugu with one of the top stars of Tollywood. For a creator, it is not healthy to work on the same script & screenplay again because the magic may get lost. So I am not gonna retain the director's chair for the remake. Will make an official announcement after things go on paper. Kerala release plan is on as well & it may hit the screens anytime."
