In a shocking turn of events, a doctor in Delhi, who had recently been discharged after recovery from the novel coronavirus, was locked up in her flat by her next door neighbor. The incident has left many stunned after the neighbor allegedly threatened the doctor verbally on Wednesday. It is said the doctor had contracted the COVID-19 virus while treating patients at the government hospital she works in.

The distressing incident took place when the doctor had returned to her home in South Delhi's Vasant Kunj after being discharged from the hospital where she was undergoing treatment for showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus. Upon reaching her residence to follow home quarantine, the doctor was allegedly asked by her neighbor to relocate and stay elsewhere. The individual is then said to have verbally abused the doctor and locked her inside her home. The Delhi Police has since registered a case against the person named Manish after a complaint was made by the doctor.

The Indian government has since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic been urging its citizens to not show hostility towards patients who have contracted coronavirus. Delhi has so far seen more than 8,000 positive coronavirus cases and over a 100 people declared with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal taking all efforts possible to aid the health workers in the battle against the fatal disease.
