The 'Daaru Desi' actress, Deepika Padukone, who stepped into the glamourous world of Bollywood, with Om Shanthi Om opposite, Shah Rukh Khan, feels proud for receiving the Smita Patil Memorial Award.

The confident actress says, she has always admired, Smita Patil's work and feels honoured to get such a prestigious award at an early at in her career. This award gives her a boost of confidence, that she has been choosing the right projects to work on. The 26-year-old believes in picking roles that excite her.

Asked if she is looking forward, to getting a National Award, Deepika says, "That's every actor's dream. When you do a shot in front of the camera, when you are working, that's not what is in your mind, you are not working to win the award. But at the end of the day when you finish a film and put in all the hard work, of course you want all the awards and if there is a National award that comes my way, most definitely."

Giving hits after hits, one of B-towns favourite actress, Deepika Padukone has lived up to every ones appreciation. Be it her fans or the film fraternity, Deepika who has won many awards, wins accolades, for every film she does.
