Earlier this evening (March 22), the 67th National Film Awards was officially announced and several big names bagged the honourable award. Music director D Imman won the National Award for Best Music Director (for Songs) for his work in Ajith Kumar's Viswasam. The news has come as a surprise for everyone as we don't usually see a mass commercial film bagging National Awards. However, Viswasam has broken the odds and D Imman is now a National Award winner. D Imman took to his official Twitter page to express his happiness and excitement about his first National Award.

D Imman's tweet read, "With God’s Magnificent Glory,My Parents Blessings and continuous support from all dear MusicLovers worldwide! I’m deeply humbled with National award announcement for Best Music Director Category. Its pure joy to receive national level recognition for Tamil music! Praise God!".

D Imman was one of the major backbones of Viswasam and his songs turned out to be chartbuster hits even before the release. After the film's release, it was 'Kannaana Kanney', which became a sensational hit among the family audience and music lovers. Ajith fans are celebrating this special feat on social media and the coming years are definitely going to be bright and exciting for D Imman.
