Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education K. A. Sengottaiyan announced on Tuesday that the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations in the state will be held between June 15 to June 25. The revised schedule for the Tamil Nadu SSLC exams comes after opposition for the previous dates, which were announced to be from June 1 to June 10. The decision to postpone the exams to a new date has come after a discussion was held with Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

The Tamil Nadu SSLC examination time table for the students too has been announced and are as follows:

1) June 15 - Tamil

2) June 17 - English

3) June 19 - Mathematics

4) June 22 - Science

5 ) June 24 - Social Science

6) June 25 - Vocational

Earlier, K. A. Sengottaiyan during a press interaction a few days back announced that students are being prepared for their exams through online coaching as well as by referring to the Kalvi channel. Scheduled initially to take place towards the end of March, the Tamil Nadu SSLC public exams were indefinitely postponed owing to the coronavirus pandemic, which has left over 11,000 people affected by the disease in the state with Chennai city's total crossing 7,000 positive COVID-19 cases. With the lockdown across Tamil Nadu announced to come to an end on May 31, relaxations are being given by the government, but with necessary precautions being taken as the people are still advised to stay indoors and adhere to social distancing, and wear masks at all times. It remains to be seen whether the children attending the 10th standard public exams too will be asked to wear masks in light of the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
