Union Minister for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri announced on Wednesday that domestic airline operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from May 25. Yesterday, Puri tweeted saying, "It is not up to Ministry of Civil Aviation or centre alone to decide on resuming domestic flights. In the spirit of cooperative federalism, the govt of states where these flights will take off & land should be ready to allow civil aviation operations." Domestic airline operations across the country will for the first time resume after a period of exactly two months when the nationwide lockdown was imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from March 25. The ongoing lockdown is in its fourth phase and has been announced to come to an end on May 31 with relaxations already seen in plenty at present in areas that are not in the red zone including the containment zones.
