Vijay TV's reality TV cooking show, Cooku with Comali, has turned out to be a huge success for the broadcasting giant after it began airing in 2019 first, with the second edition currently underway and now entering the crucial elimination stages. The show has garnered a phenomenal viewership, with several popular names from the Tamil entertainment industry competing with their cooking skills, while also putting on display their hilarious antics. Ashwin Kumar, Baba Bhaskar, Kani Thiru, Pavithra Lakshmi, Shakeela, Rithika Tamil Selvi, Dharsha Gupta, Deepa Shankar, Madurai Muthu introduced as the contestants in the second season were given company by those who participated in the previous edition among whom include Pugazh, Bala, Shivangi and Manimegalai.

Among them all, Rithika, who entered Cooku with Comali season 2 as a wildcard entrant, earlier on Saturday left fans shocked when she posted a picture of herself on her Instagram Story feature from a hospital and taking trips as part of a treatment. As many concerned fans continued to wait for a detailed word on the reason for the picture, including an official health status update, Rithika, an hour later, issued a clarification. In her statement, Rithika wrote, "Hi my Insta family, Nothing to worry big.. It's just a food poison & low BP. Since I'm weak, taking drips. Am feeling better now. Please don't feel bad for me. Thank you all for your love & care. Take care everyone."

Rithika, who became an instant sensation among the masses and the classes, the young and the elderly alike, went on to be eliminated a few days back from the show. Her stint on the show didn't prove to be a failure as she has since garnered a huge fan following, with many on social media continuing to share pictures and clips from her time as a contestant. Rithika is the second Cooku with Comali contestant to give a health update after VJ Manimegalai earlier this week issued a statement that she would be missing the show for the next two weeks, including other shooting commitments after she met with a minor accident.
