'Chiyaan' Vikram's highly-anticipated Cobra is the talk of the town and is gearing up for a huge worldwide theatrical release on August 31. Directed by Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame Ajay Gnanamuthu and produced under Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios banner, full-fledged promotions for the upcoming action thriller film are being carried out as the core cast has been traveling to various South Indian cities to spread the word ahead of the film's release. Stars from the film have so far visited Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kochi, and Chennai (where the trailer was released earlier this week), and will be interacting with fans next in Bengaluru on Saturday (August 27) and in Hyderabad on Sunday (August 28). That being said, director Ajay, who has been missing from the Cobra release promotions, revealed today on social media for not being able to participate in the pre-release formalities and said that he will join the team soon.

Addressing a fan's query about missing out on the Cobra promotions, Ajay Gnanamuthu informed that he has been busy with the final works of the film, but expressed his joy at the response the team has been getting over the past few days. He tweeted, "Apologies!! I shall be joining soon!! Caught up with the final works of the film !! But super happy seeing my amazinggggg team @SrinidhiShetty7 @mirnaliniravi @MeenakshiGovin2 @roshanmathew22 slaying it with our King #Cobra @chiyaan sir 🔥🔥". The film also stars former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan as a cop, while K. S. Ravikumar, Anandaraj, Robo Shankar, John Vijay among others will be seen in vital supporting roles. Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman has churned out hits once again and this time with the Cobra album as fans now await to listen to his magical background score when the film arrives in theatres next week.
