Sun Network is debatably the most popular Television brands in the whole of India. They have a staggering TRP across all south Indian languages. They act as a one-stop shop for Entertainment providing different types of contents from movies, soap operas to music videos and reality shows.




The channel headed by Kalanithi Maran was largely seen focusing in South India with a strong base set in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Now they are going to foray into another regions as well.  In an official statement to the media, SL Narayanan, CFO of Sun group announced about the brand foraying into two other languages Bengali and Marathi. The total investment for this project is expected to be around 300 crores.


 

The Bengali entertainment channel titled Sun Bangla is likely to go on air next month and the Marathi channel subsequently will go air over the next year. It must be noted that as per BARC reports, their prime television channel Sun TV retains the position for the highest viewed channel in India.
