Breaking: Gautham Karthik's next project to be for Lyca Productions!

The young star Gautham Karthik had an amazing start to his career with ace director Mani Ratnam's Kadal, in 2013! He had conscutive hits in a number of movies like Yennamo Yedho, Vai Raja Vai, Rangoon and Ivan Thanthiran. His adult comedies Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu, were also well received by the youth audience and had a very good run at the theatres. However, his recent movies have not been doing all that great at the Box Office and he is in dire need of a hit to resurrect his career! We now have an interesting update on Gautham Karthik's next project!

An industry insider has revealed to us that Gautham Karthik is in the final level of talks to star in a new project for the popular Lyca Productions banner! This new movie is to be directed by Pon Kumar, an associate of director AR Murugadoss. Pon Kumar has assisted Murugadoss in most of his recent movies and has also appeared in a couple of important scenes in movies like Kaththi and Spyder! We hear that this project has almost been finalised and is in the final stages of confirmation! An official announcement is expected to happen soon!

Lyca Productions have a number of happening projects in hand, including Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, the magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan by Mani Ratnam, Arun Vijay & Prasanna's Mafia: Chapter 1 and Yogi Babu's Pannikutty! Gautham Karthik is currently working on the Tamil remake of the superhit Kannada movie Mufti, which also has STR as another lead. Keep watching this space for updates...
