'Born In Kerala' on August 23

After the tremendous success of 'Malayalee', a music album that won Jeevan TV’s Best Music Album Award and the Gulf Malayalam Music Award by ADVA (an association of Keralites in West Asia), music director and composer Jakes Bejoy is ready to launch his next album, 'Born In Kerala'.

'Born In Kerala', which has been dedicated to all those who are born in Kerala – ‘God’s own country’ – will be released on August 23 by Harris Jayaraj at Hotel Le Meridien, Kochi. The album has eight songs.

Jakes Bejoy has also sung a song in this album after his successful singing stint in films like Flash, Pachamarathanalil and Malayalee. "Each song has an element of surprise in it. For instance, the title track named ‘Born in Kerala’ has a bit of rap sung by the popular Malaysian singer Yogi B.," he said.

The themes of the songs revolve around love, youthfulness and the beauty of life. Two of the songs have been made into videos. Roma, who acted in the song sequence of ‘Minnalazhage’ in ‘Malayalee’, is paired with Ajmal in one of the songs. The singers are Ranjith, Sayanora, Benny Dayal, Subiksha and Arjun. Another highlight of the album is the comedy track sung by Suraj Venjarammoodu in his typical Thiruvananthapuram slang.

Lyrics are by Anil Panachooraan of Arabikkatha fame and Jalu Jayaraj. The orchestra is set by Gopi Sundar (BIG B fame), Aswin Sivadas (Lajjawathiye fame), Santhosh Narayan, Keeth Peters (both from A.R. Rahman’s group) and Sumesh.
