Many of AR Rahman’s songs have been incorporated by international artists and Hollywood movie directors in their works. The world-renowned music maestro has been casting the spell of his iconic tunes for decades now. In Hollywood, AR Rahman is known for composing soundtracks for major Oscar-winning Hollywood productions such as Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Million Dollar Arm and The 100-Foot Journey. He has won 2 Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire and is still rated among the top musicians in India even after being in business for close to 3 decades. His voice still holds the power of his youth. He often collaborates with artists from all over the globe.

Recently, world-famous American rapper Will.i.am launched his music video titled Action which featured scenes from Indian films like Enthiran, Aambala, Singham and Marayada Ramana. The video was a fun tribute to the body of works done in India by Black Eyes Peas team. Publishing the video, Black Eyed Peas wrote about their long association with Indian cinema. “(We) have been inspired by Indian culture from the beginning of our career… From Asha Bhosle to AR Rahman, Indian music has influenced our songs on more than one occasion…This video for ACTION shows our LOVE and appreciation for BOLLYWOOD and the imagination and awesomeness it brings to the screen…” the group said.

AR Rahman had shared the video and also stated that - “The borders are blurring through art! #tamilcinema @directorshankar #rajnikant #india.” Will.i.am acknowledged AR Rahman’s tweet by saying - “Music and Art is the spiritual glue that units the world!!! Thank you for all your wonderful contributions to connect people...!!!” Following this Twitter conversation, AR Rahman invited Will.I.am if he is ready for a live Instagram conversation, to which the rapper instantly said yes. Now, it looks like the duo have apparently teamed up for a live conversation. They have released a promo video featuring It’s My Birthday song of Will.I.Am which is inspired from AR Rahman’s classic number Urvashi from Kadhalan. In this promo, you can see Will.I.Am praising AR Rahman to using a distinct sound. He asked ARR - “what’ drum machine was that? What drum was that? Is that a real claps or a drum machine? That is like, wow, when I first heard, I was like Yowwww.” Check out the promo:
