The first trailer for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson's highly anticipated comic book film Black Adam movie has finally dropped. Just over two minutes in length, viewers are introduced to Johnson’s Black Adam, who is heard explaining: “I was a slave until I died. Then I was reborn a god.” For those living under a rock, the film follows superhero/supervillain Black Adam, who was locked away in a tomb for 5,000 years immediately after being bestowed with the power of an Egyptian god.

The trailer also introduces us to Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate, both of whom are making their first appearance in the world of comic book movies directed as a part of DC Comics and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. Brosnan in an earlier interview has stated, “It is an ensemble piece, Black Adam. You have Dwayne, who is at the pinnacle of his fame and fortune and success and popularity. He is magnificent as Black Adam. We are the Justice Society and there’s four of us, so we became a strong quartet of actors."

We also get to see the famous Atom Smasher as well as Hawkman who seems to be going head and head against Black Adam. One particularly takeaway moment from the trailer is when Black Adam is seen shooting lightning bolts from his hands as he declares that he "kneels before no one". Black Adam, first known as Teth-Adam, is an antihero from Kahndaq who will go on to become the archenemy of Shazam played by Zachary Levi.

The former WWE sensation had previously described Black Adam as, "being blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, but the difference is he does not toe the mark or walk the line. He is a rebellious, one-of-a-kind superhero, who will always do what is right for the people – but he does it his way”.
