With an uncertainty prevailing over the reopening of theatres, a few producers have been exploring the possibilities of releasing their films directly on OTT platforms. This created a stir among a certain section of theatre owners. Having said that, Bigil's creative producer Archana Kalpathi took to her official Twitter space to share her opinion on this situation. Apart from producing movies under the banner of AGS Entertainment, Archana Kalpathi's family also owns the AGS Group of Theatres which has branches in places like Villivakkam, T.Nagar, OMR, etc.

While talking about the current scenario, she said that OTT and theatres are two sides of a coin and both are needed for survival. She tweeted, "So many people have asked me about OTT Vs Theatrical release I will not pick sides I don’t want to.I believe we are two sides of the same coin and everyone is just trying to survive this storm. So let us be positive and stand together as an Industry ❤️". This tweet from Archana has got a very good reception and response among the industry insiders and trade experts.

On the professional front, AGS Entertainment had last produced Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil, which became a huge blockbuster at the box office, collecting over 300 crores from the worldwide market. The esteemed production house is currently holding talks with various leading stars and an official announcement on their next film will be made very soon, once the situation gets better.
