Bigil actress sahithya jagannathan statement on breast milk donation

Popular Tamil model and actress Sahithya Jagannathan and her husband Cary Edwards were blessed with fraternal twins on June 1 this year. Naming the newborns as River Acharya-Edwards and Xara Acharya-Edwards, Sahithya, who is also a beauty pageant winner, columnist and also a VJ, posted a message on Sunday on social media regarding a campaign for young mothers to step forward in donating their breast milk to save children in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) on the occasion of breast feeding week. Having appeared in starring roles in notable Tamil films like Gautham Menon's Neethane En Ponvasantham, R. Parthiepan's Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam, including 'Thalapathy' Vijay's blockbuster Bigil, Sahithya added that she is planning to add an extra pumping session in order to donate breast milk herself.

Sharing a picture of herself with her influencer and VJ husband Cary Edwards, Sahithya captioned her post as **BREASTMILK DONATION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN** and wrote, "#mommyshotsfoundation invited us to be a part of this campaign to invite more mothers to kindly donate some of their precious Breastmilk so that it may save a child in the NICU! Milk from one of the banks helped save & nourish a friend’s child. I for one plan to add an extra pumping session so I can donate some as well! I understand the challenges of breastfeeding your child let alone two but, mothers are some of the most generous beings on this planet. So please join me in donating a little bit of your precious breast milk so that we can help someone else’s child in need."

Tagging maternity and baby photographer Amrita Samant for the photograph, Sahithya added, "Thank you for educating me about this and for inviting us to be a part of this campaign." She further tagged make-up artist Evelyn Xavier conveying her gratitude, while informing followers that the info on the breast milk bank is in the image post, including adding hashtags like #internationalbreastfeedingweek #twinmom #breastfeeding #breastmilkdonation #chennai.
