The smash hit reality TV show Bigg Boss has witnessed unprecedented success ever since its inception more than a decade back first in Hindi, which is currently nearing the end of its fourteen edition. In that light, Bigg Boss has since transitioned into other regional languages as well, with the show turning out to be an astounding success in Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bangla versions. With Bigg Boss Telugu season 4 and Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 coming to an end recently and Bigg Boss 14 in Hindi gearing up for a grand finale up ahead, we now have our first official announcement on the next edition of the show in Kannada. 

Leading actor Kiccha Sudeep, who served as the host of Bigg Boss Kannada for the past seven seasons since it began in 2013, has now announced that the eighth season will begin soon, with a promo shoot currently in progress. Sudeep teased fans by displaying a coffee mug with the Bigg Boss Kannada season 8 logo. As of now, the details on when the show will begin telecast in Kannada is under wraps, with fans waiting with eager anticipation to begin watching the new season of the hit reality show. It is to be noted that Bigg Boss Kannada was the first among the regional languages in the country and became the No.1 reality show in South India when it began airing in 2013.

Bigg Boss in Kannada has gone on to become a massive success over the years, with season 7 being extended to another two weeks instead of the regular 98 days format. It was also incidentally the second longest season in Kannada in comparison to the previous editions. Shine Shetty, who was declared as the Bigg Boss Kannada season 7 winner in 2019, also went on to receive a cash prize of Rs 50 lakhs, including an additional Rs 11 lakhs from a number of the show's sponsors.
