Veteran director Bharathiraja's most ambitious project Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum was recently in the news for many reasons. First Ameer has opted out of the project citing creative difference. Then actress Iniya opted out. Now the latest is that the director has roped in son Manoj (of Taj Mahal fame) as the main villain. Karthika is the leading lady.

Set in Madurai, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum is a period film which runs through four decades: 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The director has also roped in young composer G.V. Prakash as the music director for the project. Interestingly, GV's uncle A.R. Rahman teamed up with the veteran director for Kizhakku Cheemayilae in 1993, and now it's his turn.
