The 2012 film, Argo which was directed by Ben Affleck, in which he also stars as Tony Mendez, won the actor two awards at the 70th Golden Globe Awards.

Winning the titles of the Best Film and Best Director, the actor who was overwhelmed, took this opportunity to thank his wife Jennifer Garner, stating that it is because of her, that he is here today. "I adore you. I love you so much. Thanks for sitting through this. You are my everything. Thank you," he added.

He also read out the names of the other nominees, stating that its not about winning an award, but it is indeed a big thing for one's name to be next to the other big nominees, which is something just extraordinary.

The others who where nominated for the category where, Steven Spielberg for Lincoln, Ang Lee for Life of Pi, Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty and Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained.
