While everyone awaits a one-way ticket to Hollywood, this guy with years of experience and a shimmering reputation in Hollywood circles brings his book of fantasies here. But he explains it differently. “It’s still a Hollywood film. my camera is just pointed towards india,” smiles Balaji Kumar, who makes his directorial debut in Tamil cinema with Vidyum Munn.

"But I wanted to do it in India. I believed I could make it the movie in India. And here I am,” reveals Kumar. And right away we are confronted with his enthusiasm to deliver a work of art at its best and his absolute confidence in his ability to deliver exactly that! “It started in late 2010 when my friend in Los Angeles, said I could not write a story that was female-centric because I did not know much about women.I however, believed otherwise. I set out to prove I could and when I pitched my concept to her, she said it worked! She believed I could make it a Hollywood film. But I wanted to do it in India. I believed I could make it the movie in India. And here I am,” reveals Kumar.
