Awards are not new to this multi-talented power house of an artiste. From playing impactful lead roles and supporting characters in cinema, Revathi gradually transformed into a movie maker with substance. The Red Building Where the Sun Sets is her recent directorial venture that has won the Best Non-feature Film Award. Interestingly this is her third National award; first was for her performance in Thevar Magan, then for her directorial venture Mitr, My Friend and now for her short film Red Building.

Red Building Where the Sun Sets is a film from the child's point of view and his reaction to the fights his parents have day in and day out. The star cast includes Anu Haasan, Sunil Vishnu, Abhay Nanda and Shritiman Chatterjee. The film was made for a project called by School Cinema by Edu Media, Bangalore.

“Awards are a token of appreciation for the hard work we have put in. It always feels good to win one. That said, in this case it came as a surprise because I made this film for an organization in Bangalore to show parents of school children and make them see that their behaviour affects their kids. I had no idea they had sent it  for the National Awards,” reveals Revathi.
