A highly anticipated film right from the get go, Dhanush’s upcoming action drama, Asuran, under Vetrimaaran’s direction is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Tamil novel, Vekkai. Being produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu’s V Creations banner, filming has been progressing in a quiet manner and is nearing its final stages. Fans are mighty excited over the reunion of the two National Award winners for a fourth time after their Vada Chennai last year. Now, a video of Dhanush in his Asuran look playing cricket with his sons, Yatra and Linga, is doing the rounds on social media.

Asuran is carrying a lot of expectations as the film will see Dhanush in dual roles once again after his Kodi released in 2017, and was revealed by us a while back to be an October 2 release as an Ayudha Pooja treat for fans. The film has many exciting names attached to it among whom are G. V. Prakash Kumar scoring the music, National Award-winning actress Manju Warrier making her debut in Tamil cinema, veteran filmmaker Balaji Sakthivel in the role of a policeman, actor turned politician Karunas’ son, Ken Karunas, and actors Pasupathy and Pavan in supporting roles.

Apart from Asuran, Dhanush is also working on two films under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner - one project each with Kodi director Durai Senthilkumar and Ratsasan fame Ramkumar, two films under Kalaipuli S. Thanu's V Creations - one project with his filmmaker brother, Selvaraghavan, and another venture with Pariyerum Perumal director Mari Selvaraj, and a Y Not Studios ventuure under Petta director Karthik Subbaraj.
