Ashwin Shekar gets chatty!

Aspiring young actor Ashwin Shekar, who made his cine debut with the action-packedVegam, is now waiting with bated breath for the release of his second movie, Ninaivil Nindraval. Son of the much loved, S. Ve. Sekar, Ashwin is not wanting in the humour department! Catch him off guard and he has some interesting things to share about himself. Here’s some of what we found out…

1. He did not get paid to act in Vegam becausedaddywas the producer! “But I did make up for that by doing quite a bit of shopping in Malaysia, where a big part of the movie was shot,” reveals Ashwin. Revenge, so sweet, eh!

2. The actor began his acting career on a very positive note. Wondering how? “Well, my first dialogue was in front of a Lord Ganesha temple, where I break a coconut and pray, ‘Let everything that happens from now on, be only for the better’… And truly believed it,”says Ashwin.

3. Ashwin is your take-it-easy, cool kind of guy. So does it surprise you that the phrase he uses the most is, “Parava illa da machan” even when it’s to a gal?!

4. Ashwin loves going to the cinema with his mom and sis, butalso loves the movie-going experience with his buddies. So he confesses that he has often watched movies twice! “I hate to disappoint my mom by watching the movie before her. So usually when I go for a movie with my friends, I won’t tell her if it’s a movie she has not seen. So later, when she decides to go for it and calls me, I will just play along! If it’s a good movie, then it’s ok. But when it’s a bad one, it’s really quite difficult,” reveals Ashwin.

5. Usually, when you ask someone what their fave saying is, you often hear them quoting wise words of great philosophers. But Ashwin is a simple guy. His fave saying is from the movie Aegan! “I’m a big Ajith fan. His dialogue 'Bayandhavan Irukamaatan' in Aegan is my favourite saying! It makes a lot of sense. If you are afraid to do things, you will never move forward in life. You have to face things courageously, if you want to get ahead.”

You be strong Ashwin. 2010 could be just the year for you!
