The Telugu romantic drama, Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey released in 2017 under Sandeep Vanga's direction became a sensational hit and has since gone on to become a cult classic. Having received an 'A' certificate by the Censor Board then, the film made at a budget of Rs. 5 crores grossed well over Rs. 50 crores in box office collections and has since spawned remakes in Hindi under the title Kabir Singh and Adithya Varma in Tamil. Now, there are reports stating Arjun Reddy is set to be remade in Kannada as well. Apparently, popular filmmaker S. Narayan has acquired the film's Kannada remake rights and an official announcement on the project including its complete cast and crew are expected to happen soon.

As said earlier, Arjun Reddy's success led to the remake of the film in Hindi, Kabir Singh, with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani portraying Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey's roles and, Sandeep Vanga once again taking on the directorial duties. The film, which was released last week, has turned out to be a huge hit across the nation with fans and critics lauding the performances of the two stars as well as showering praises on the team for retaining the essence of the story from the Telugu original.

Likewise, the Tamil remake, Adithya Varma, will mark the acting debut of National Award-winning actor Vikram's son, Dhruv Vikram, in the lead role opposite Banita Sandhu as the female lead. Directed by Sandeep Vanga's former associate, Gireesaya, the Tamil version has been produced under the E4 Entertainment banner and is being planned for a July release as per reports.
