One of the most controversial as well as super successful movies of this year is Aadai, which had Amala Paul in the lead. This thriller movie, directed by Rathna Kumar, was produced by Viji Subramaniam for SK Studios and created quite a stir, right from the time the movie's first look was revealed. As is commonly known, Aadai stirred up a lot of controversy for having Amala Paul in a number of nude sequences. However, all these sequences were very aesthetically shot and did not have any vulgarity in them. Vijay Karthik Kannan's cinematography and Amala Paul's bold acting were very highly appreciated. Following the success of Aadai, there have been reports of the movie being remade, in a number of languages.

The statement also reads that Kangna Ranaut has not been approached for the lead role in the Hindi remake but that a different star had already been roped in.
