Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has established himself to be one of the most distinguished talents in Indian cinema over the years with his films namely Black Friday, Dev D, Gangs of Wasseypur movies, Ugly, Raman Raghav 2.0 while also the hit, Lust Stories, which came out last year. The acclaimed director also went on to display his acting skills by making his debut in Tamil as the villain in the Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Raashi Khanna starrer, Imaikkaa Nodigal, with his performance going on to be hailed by fans and critics alike. Known for being quite outspoken, Anurag Kashyap deleted his Twitter account on Saturday night around 9PM, but posted two tweets conveying that threats were coming against him, his daughter and his parents over his political views against the government.

Anurag Kashyap tweeted out saying, “When your parents start to get calls and your daughter gets online threats you know that no one wants to talk. There isn't going to be reason or rationale. Thugs will rule and thuggery will be the new way of life. Congratulations everyone on this new India & hope you all thrive,”. He continued saying, “Wish you all the happiness and success. This would be my last tweet as I leave Twitter. When I won't be allowed to speak my mind without fear than I would rather not speak at all. Good bye,”. On the professional front, Anurag Kashyap has directed the second season of the hit thriller web series, Sacred Games, which has Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi reprising their roles alongside new cast members Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey among others.
