Acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has established himself to be a highly distinguished talent in Indian cinema with his films among which Black Friday, Dev D, Gangs of Wasseypur movies, Ugly, and Raman Raghav 2.0 have gone on to earn a cult fan following over the years. That said, Anurag Kashyap had reportedly on Thursday received a death threat on social media after which the hit director alerted the Mumbai Police on Twitter by tagging them in a tweet along with the tweet that included the threatening message, which later went on to be deleted. The Mumbai Police were quick to respond and tweeted back saying the issue is being looked at with a request then made to the reputed filmmaker to file a complaint at his nearest police station for further action to be initiated.

Anurag Kashyap had faced a similar problem not long back when his daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, was targeted with a rape threat. The filmmaker had then too brought the matter of women’s safety on social media with the Mumbai Police then reportedly filing a FIR on the said individual soon after. On the professional front, Anurag Kashyap had also made a splash last year by helming the smash hit, Lust Stories, while also delivering a thumping performance in his Tamil acting debut by playing the antagonist in the Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Raashi Khanna starrer, Imaikkaa Nodigal, which went on to be hailed by fans and critics. Anurag Kashyap is currently directing the second season of the hit web series thriller, Sacred Games, which will see Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi reprising their roles alongside new cast members Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey among others.
