Earlier this morning (June 15), Akshay Kumar made a super surprising announcement, revealing the release plans of his next film, Bell Bottom. The exciting announcement is that Bell Bottom will be released in theatres on July 27. Earlier, there were wide speculations claiming that the movie will have a direct OTT release, but it looks like the team has preferred the theatrical business over the OTT business. This news has created a huge buzz and has come as delightful news for the fans. This also tells us that there is a high possibility of theatres reopening in India, very soon. The intensity of the second wave of Covid 19 is slowly coming under control and it looks like the theatrical release decision would have been taken, based on that.

The interesting part while looking at the release date is that July 27 is a Tuesday. The regular practice in the Indian theatrical business is to release movies on Fridays, (or Thursdays) so that the movie would pick up well in the weekend. However, the makers of Bell Bottom have opted for a Tuesday to release the film. Notably, Bell Bottom has become the first big league Indian film to release in theatres after the second wave of Covid 19 and let us expect more films to join the list. Bell Bottom is directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Pooja Entertainment, in association with Emmay Entertainment.

The film features Vaani Kapoor as the female lead, while the star cast also includes the likes of Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta, Denzil Smith, Aniruddh Dave, Adil Hussain, Thalaivasal Vijay, and others. The film's entire shooting was planned and executed during the Covid times, last year. The shooting took place in Glasgow (Scotland) and London. Touted to be a stylish spy thriller, the film has got solid expectations among the fans and it is expected to do well at the box office.
