Yesterday we had reported about the online meeting held by a group of film producers to discuss how to resume production after COVID-19 crisis. Producer SR Prabhu had issued a statement saying that they had discussed on various topics to reduce production expenditure which includes actor’s salaries. Now a popular media portal has stated that Ajith Kumar has decided to change his salary structure from per film basis to per day basis to encourage film producers and directors to complete the film in a quick time. When we got in touch with the manager and publicist of Ajith Kumar to clarify this news, they denied it as false news. Any change in Ajith Kumar’s salary will be disclosed only to the production house and will not be made to the public is what our sources tell us. Any actor choosing to charge a huge per day salary in order to reduce the number of working days is only going to end up disastrous, feels industry experts. This process is only going to add more pressure on both the producers as well as the director.

Even during the lockdown, Ajith Kumar is coming up with very an innovative initiative of spraying disinfectants using drones across all the red zone areas especially in Tamil Nadu. His idea turned out to be quite successful. Ajith Kumar as we know is socially responsible and doesn’t seek publicity through his philanthropic activities. Professionally, Ajith Kumar had an excellent 2019 with both his films Viswasam and Nerkonda Paarvai turning out to be commercial hits. He will resume shooting for Valimai once things get better and when it is safe for people to work. Valimai is directed H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under his Bayview Projects LLP banner. Ajith Kumar is playing a cop in this movie which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
