Last month, it was revealed that director Kannan of Jayam Kondan and Ivan Thanthiran fame acquired the Tamil remake rights of The Great Indian Kitchen and the news created a good buzz on social media. The Great Indian Kitchen is a Malayalam film that featured Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles and it released earlier this year, on January 15. The film skipped its theatrical release and had a direct OTT release on Nee Stream platform. The film received highly positive reviews from the critics and general audience. The film was praised for talking about the reality of a woman's life in an orthodox family. Nimisha Sajayan left a solid impact with her impressive performance.

Produced by Dijo Augustine, Jomon Jacob, Vishnu Rajan, and Sajin S Raj, the film had music scored by Sooraj S Kurup and Mathews Pulickan, cinematography by Salu K Thomas, and editing by Francies Louis. Coming back to its Tamil remake, the film was officially launched this morning (March 3) with a special pooja.

The highly talented and promising Aishwarya Rajesh will be playing the lead role, reprising Nimisha Sajayan's character. We have seen Aishwarya Rajesh's mettle as a performer in movies like Kaakka Muttai, Kanaa, Vada Chennai, Namma Veettu Pillai, and it is now time to see her in yet another challenging character. Let us keep our fingers crossed and see how Aishwarya Rajesh does justice to Nimisha Sajayan's character. R Kannan will be producing and directing this Tamil remake. The male lead is yet to be announced and an official word regarding that is awaited. R Kannan has planned to make this film as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu.

Aishwarya Rajesh has become a promising name in the Telugu industry after Kousalya Krishnamurthy and World Famous Lover, and it looks like director Kannan has made the right choice of casting Aishwarya Rajesh in the film. This yet-to-be-titled film will have cinematography by ace lensman, Balasubramaniem, while the editing will be done by Leo John Paul. More details regarding the project are awaited.

Meanwhile, director R Kannan is awaiting the release of his film, Thalli Pogathey that stars Atharvaa, Anupama Parameswaran, and Amitash Pradhan in the lead roles. Thalli Pogathey is the official Tamil remake of the Telugu film, Ninnu Kori and it is expected to release in theatres very soon. After completing a remake, Kannan has now gotten his hands on another remake film! Stay tuned for more updates.
