Leading film production banner Lyca Productions is currently developing several ventures, which are in various stages of development starting with ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam's epic historical fiction film, Ponniyin Selvan. Apart from Ponniyin Selvan, the blockbuster production house is also bankrolling Tami biggies like Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Sivakarthikeyan's Don, Trisha's Raangi, including the highly-anticipated Akshay Kumar-starrer Ram Setu and Good Luck Jerry with Jahnvi Kapoor under Aanand L. Rai's direction in Hindi. In that light, Lyca Productions dropped a massive announcement on Saturday informing fans that their next film will be in Telugu, with Tamil filmmaker Aishwarya R. Dhanush directing the venture. 

'Superstar Rajinikanth’s eldest daughter and the wife of two-time National Award-winning actor Dhanush, Aishwarya, who debuted in direction with 3 (2012) and subsequently made the heist black comedy Vai Raja Vai (2015), is now set for a grand a comeback to mainstream cinema after a six-year hiatus. Aishwarya, who also made a documentary titled Cinema Veeran in the interim, spoke about her upcoming film with Lyca Productions and said, "I am so excited to direct this film and with Lyca backing this project, our collective endeavour will be to bring a much-needed, family entertainer for our pan-India audiences." Likewise, Aashish Singh, CEO Lyca Productions, in an official press release said, "We are thrilled to have Aishwaryaa on board to direct our first Telugu production. We are confident that this film will captivate and entertain audiences across the country."
