Novelist cum journalist cum director Agni Sridhar finally gets his piece of cake. The director got a sigh of relief after the much delayed State Government Awards were announced. Karnataka State Film Awards for the year 2010-11 were announced last week. Sridhar's directorial venture Thamassu won three State Awards - Second Best Movie, Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Female). The director thanked the committee members for recognizing his movie. At the same time he expressed his unhappiness over the delay and mentioned that the government was irresponsible in forming the award panel committee. He said that the government should have been more careful.

Actress Priya Hassan and producer Basant Kumar Patil have a filed a complaint against the first list of state awards for 2010-11 as cinematographer Ashok Kashyap, who had worked on Super was part of the committee and in the same year Super was also nominated for the Best Film. Then the Court dissolved the old panel and ordered to form a fresh panel. The new committee announced the awards last week.
