Legendary Kannada actor Ambareesh breathed his last in November 2018. However, his work will live on forever and some of his notable biggies include Naagarahaavu, Shubhamangala, Paduvarahalli Pandavaru, Ranganayaki, Masanada Hoovu, Antha, Chakravyuha, Diggajaru, and others. He fell in love with his Aahuti and New Delhi co-star and actress Sumalatha and eventually, they got married in December 1991. The celebrity couple enjoyed a very good fan following and they shared a very sweet rapport. Sumalatha was quite a very popular actress in Kannada and Malayalam cinema.

She has also acted in some notable biggies in Tamil cinema including Thisai Maariya Paravaigal, Murattu Kaalai, Kazhugu, Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo, Kudumbam Oru Kadambam, Theerpu, Azhagiya Kanne, etc. Just like Ambareesh, Sumalatha also entered politics a few years back and she is currently a Member of the Parliament (MP).

The veteran actress turned politician has now revealed that she has been tested positive for Coronavirus. She took to her Twitter page to share this news with her followers and well-wishers who wished her a speedy recovery. However, Sumalatha requested the fans not to panic as she has got only very mild symptoms and has been advised to be under home treatment. She added that her immunity levels are strong and she is expecting to bounce back to normalcy soon. She also requested the people who came in contact with her in the past few days to get tested.

Her series of tweets read, "Dear friends, I had developed mild symptoms of headache and throat irritation on Saturday, July 4. I decided to get tested as I might have been exposed to COVID-19 during the course of my constituency duties and tours. The results have arrived today. It is positive with very mild symptoms and I have been advised home treatment. Hence, I have quarantined myself and going through the prescribed treatment as per my doctor’s instructions. By the grace of God ,My immunity levels are strong and I am confident that I will get through this soon with all your support. I have provided details of the persons who I might have come into contact with to Govt Authorities. But I would still urge those who have come in contact with me, if you have any symptoms, to get tested immediately. Let's win the war against #Covid".
