Actor Ashwin has injured his hands while shooting an action sequence for his upcoming film Thiri. Directed by Ashok Amirtaraj, the film also stars Swati and Karunakaran in the lead. Recalling the incident, director Ashok sais, "Usually, we use sugar glass for breaking shots but still the edges are sharp. It was an emotional scene for Ashwin and he had to shatter the glass. At a particular point, he was too emotional and broke the glass with a bloodshed." The actor was immediately given the first aid and has been advised rest for two weeks.
