Ash Christian, a popular American actor and film director and producer passed away at the age of 35. The cause of his death is still unknown but he apparently died in his sleep while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. His representatives broke the news and no other details have emerged as of now. Ash Christian had been sick for a few days toward the end of his trip, which he had been documenting joyfully on Instagram, and had visited a hospital prior to returning to where he was staying on Thursday. He died in his sleep of natural causes and was discovered Friday morning. Ash Christian was an Emmy award-winning producer, actor, filmmaker and founder of Cranium Entertainment and his sudden untimely death has shocked the entire film industry. His friend and producing partner Anne Clements issued a statement after the demise of Ash - " Ash was a great friend, colleague and partner in crime. He was a champion of indie film and filmmakers and his love of the process of putting movies together was infectious. My heart goes out to his family, especially his mother. The world lost one of the good ones."

Christian began writing and directing short films at the age of 14, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams just two years later. Christian burst onto the film scene with the movie Fat Girls in the year 2006, which he produced, directed, wrote, and in which he starred. The gay coming-of-age dramedy was a film-fest favorite, and led to numerous other opportunities. He wrote, directed and starred in his first feature film at just 19 years old. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won an award for outstanding emerging talent at L.A. Outfest. In 2014, Christian won a Daytime Emmy for outstanding special-class short-format daytime program for “mI Promise.” He shared the award with his producing partner Anne Clements and executive producers Lauralee Bell and Scott Martin. We express our deepest condolences to the family of the departed.
