Born Sesachalam in North Arcot, Periyar Dasan shot to fame with his role in Bharathiraja's movie Karuthamma. since then, he acted in a number of movies, and gave life to a variety of characters on the silver screen. Periyar Dasan converted to Islam on 11th March 2010, and took the name of Abdullah. Recently, this veteran actor was admitted to the hospital, following ill health. Today, he succumbed to his illness at the age of 63. We pray for his soul to rest in peace.
