Ajith’s Vivegam became a solo performer at the box office which was one among the many reasons that made the movie a super hit. There were no movies at all, even small budget films backed off giving a success without competition.

However, Vijay may not get the same advantage for his Mersal. Directed by Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame, Theeran Athigaram Ondru Featuring Karthi in the lead is set for Diwali release. The cop story is expected to be strong on content and may definitely give a tough fit for Mersal.
