December 4 is an important date for actor Vijay as he completes 29 years in Tamil cinema on Saturday as a hero after he debuted in the lead role in the 1992 film Naalaiya Theerpu under his father S. A. Chandrasekhar's direction. Since then, the superstar has seen a number of big successes, including failures, with his ardent fans standing by his side throughout all phases of his life. 'Thalapathy', as he is called by fans everywhere, Vijay, who tasted yet another massive box office triumph earlier this year with Master, is currently working in the upcoming Beast, which is gearing up for a huge 2022 release, while also announcing his next that has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 66.
On the occasion of completing 29 years as a hero in Tamil cinema and being a dominating figure at the box office, Vijay's fans are celebrating the day on social media with the hashtag '#29YrsofVIJAYSupremacy' and '#Thalapathy29'. The number of posts on Facebook and Instagram, including the non-stop tweets from his fans have taken social media by storm, with the hashtag trending across all forums. In that light, the celebrity management company and production house The Route, founded by Vijay's manager and Master co-producer Jagadish Palanisamy, has released a special video dedicated to the actor and shows several memorable moments from the superstar’s films.
The Route has posted the video that includes a couple of shots from Vijay’s Master that were never before seen in the final theatrical cut. The video also features the iconic moment when Vijay took the selfie at Neyveli during the shooting of Master in February 2020. Vijay had later tweeted the Neyveli selfie, which set social media on fire, after he had to return to Chennai owing to the IT raids in connection with the success of Bigil that came out in 2019. The Vijay selfie incidentally became the 'Most Retweeted Tweet of 2020' and continues to be a seminal moment for the actor and his fans.
