1977: Renewed interest across centres!

Rarely has a message and action-oriented movie been released without earning its legitimate share of accolades. The same has happened for Sarath Kumar’s 1977, directed by Dinesh Kumar. Released a couple of weeks ago, the film's glory has spread through word of mouth and now after two weeks, the response is picking up suddenly yet tremendously.

1977 is about a young man who, while going through his family photo album, stumbles upon some curious facts. The film’s gears are set in motion when using theclues he finds in the album, the younger Sarath travels abroad to unearth the secret information about his father, Sarath Kumar senior. As he travels through Malaysia, we too take up the weary, angst-ridden journey with him and so all the well-packaged and presented action and drama immediately work their way intoaudiences’ minds. Also, all the happy montages that we observe in the first part ofaugur thesadder punch in the second half. With six different get-ups, Sarath has indeed given a double impact through his roles as father and son. Along with him are the lovely ladies Jayasudha, Farzana and Namitha.

The renewed response for the film is indeedproofthat a well-made, clean entertainer can surely make an impact onaudiences and act as a guiding beacon to industry people on how to tailor stories thataptlymatch audience tastes.
