Oru Mugathirai Movie Review

Actor Rahman was the talk of the town for her excellent performance in Karthick Naren’s Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. Now, the actor is back with yet another thriller film titled Oru Mugathirai, directed by Senthil Nadan. The ensemble cast includes Aditi Chengappa, Delhi Ganesh, Devika Madhavan and Meera Krishnan in pivotal roles. The story of Oru Mugathirai is that of a psychiatric doctor who is infatuated with a student of his and turns into an uncontrollable psychopath. What happens in the end forms the crux of the story.

THUMBS UP:
Director Senthil Nadan has shown us the pros and cons of Facebook and it has been effectively woven into the screenplay.

Rahman is in a classy form as he has been belting out excellent performances after another.

Music and background score by Premkumar Sivaperuman has elevated the script. He brings in the thrill factor with his music.

THUMBS DOWN:
Since the story is based on the mind games, the director could have concentrated more on the cat and mouse game. Instead, he wastes a considerable amount of time in setting up the story.

Overall, the screenplay could have been tight and at few places, it really tests the audience’s patience.

VERDICT:
A story with a great premise that could have been executed properly.

Verdict: A story with a great premise that could have been executed properly.
