Attu Movie Review

Directed by Rathan Linga, Attu is a thriller film starring Rishi Rithvik, Archana Ravi, Yogi Babu, Bala Singh and Deena in the lead roles. Produced by Dream Icon Pictures, the film was distributed by RK Suresh's Studio 9 Production. Attu, which is set in North Madras talks about rowdyism, love, trust, friendship and betrayal.

THUMBS UP:

Director Rathan Linga should be given the credit for etching the story about the dump yards in North Chennai. Since the film is based on a true incident, it adds authenticity to the script.

The film's screenplay is a huge plus point as it does not have the usual North Madras elements. Set properties used in the film takes us to their world.

Seeing the garbage and their dirty clothes may make you cringe, but it is these little details that make Attu an engaging tale of the people.

Rishi Rithvik has lived the role as a guy from North Madras while Archa Ravi is a perfect suit for her character.

Yogi Babu who stole hearts with his performance in Kaaka Muttai and Aandavan Kattalai makes us laugh with his quirky one-liners.

THUMBS DOWN:

As the story progresses, it becomes quite predictable.

Certain unwanted scenes which slow down the momentum could have been chopped off.

VERDICT:

A compelling tale about the life of North Chennai gangsters that transports you to their world.

Verdict: A compelling tale about the life of North Chennai gangsters that transports you to their world.
