Valayam for January end
Debutant director S.S. Prakash's Valayam, produced by S Raghuram and Shukoor under the banner of May Flower Movies, is slated to release in the last week of January, 2009. Scripted by the director himself, Valayam has a bench of newcomers in the lead roles, including Padmakumar, Anoop Aravind and Dhanya.
Also in the cast are Cochin Haneefa, Mammookoya, Machan Varghese, T.P. Gajendran, Bharathi Kannan, K.P.A.C. Ramachandran, Prajoosha, Vilasini and others. Cinematography is by Selva and dialogues by Baby Mathews. Murgagh has set music to the lyrics written by Sudhamshu and Asha Ramesh. The film�is touted as a racy thriller.
Interestingly,�in the history of Malayalam cinema, we can find another film�by the same name, the Murali starrer Valayam (1992) directed by Sibi Malayil. With a taut storyline and excellent performances by Murali and Manoj K. Jayan, Valayam was a well-made entertainer about the lives of lorry drivers.
