Sarath in Meghatheertham
Malayalam music director Sarath has become very popular with Idea Star Singer, a musical reality show being aired by Asianet channel. He is making his first appearance on the silver screen with Meghatheertham, a full-fledged musical entertainer directed by debutante Unnikrishnan. In this film, he appears as a chief guest who comes to inaugurate a function.
Initially, director Unnikrishnan asked the music director and his friend Sarath to act in a single�scene in his film. But when Sarath came to the location for shooting, Unnikrishnan forced him to learn a few dialogues to make a speech in the function, one of the climax scenes of the film. The shot was completed in one take. The music of the film is also scored by Sarath himself.
Veteran actress Kaviyoor Ponnamma, best known as Mohanlal's mother onscreen, dons�a key role in Meghatheertham, based on a short story 'Amma' written by Unnikrishnan and published 10 years ago. Meghatheertham will be a musical extravaganza evolving around the life of Gayathri, a violinist who sacrificed her whole life for music.
There are six songs in this film. Gireesh Puthencheri is the lyricist. Shaji Salim is the producer. Actress Padmapriya, Lakshmi and Tamil actor Prabhu will don meaty roles.�Jagathi Sreekumar, Captain Raju, Mani Kuttan and Dakshina Moorthi, Bhama and Muktha appear in supporting roles. Meghatheertham will be released very shortly.
